Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT)was established in the year 1971. It was initially known as Cochin University. Cochin University became Cochin University of Science and Technology, in the year 1986. The University was established to promote research and post graduate studies, in the areas of technology, applied science, commerce and industry.
CUSAT is located 10 kilometers north of city of Ernakulam. The main campus of the University covers an area of 180 acres.
